Forum “Future 2.0”
The Forum “Future 2.0” is an international event aiming to highlight the connection between literacy levels and key societal challenges—democracy, sustainable development, and the quality of human capital.
The organizers are the Reading Foundation, the Children’s Books Foundation, and the Association “Books and Reading.”
The forum aligns with the objectives of the National Reading Pact.
2024 Edition
The first edition, “Future 2.0: Investing in Literacy for Democracy, Sustainable Development, and Human Capital,”was held under the motto “Innovation Begins with Reading.”
The main motivation of the organizers was to analyze the causes and consequences of declining reading and comprehension skills, as well as the reduction in people’s productivity due to functional illiteracy.
The forum aims to emphasize that literacy is a fundamental investment for a strong democratic society and a sustainable environment.
The event took place on October 22, 2024, at INTERPRED Bulgaria, with participants including speakers and experts from international organizations (World Bank, OECD, IEA) and leading national and international institutions.
